2024-10-05Gwendal is the man! - Amazing tour! Gwendal was incredibly knowledgeable on all facets of Verdun and clearly painted the picture of the battlefield. We would have loved to take his Champagne tour... read more as well, but just ran out of time. We will definitely return! Highlight recommend!

2024-08-31Excellent Tour of Verdun - Our guide was excellent, both in arranging the logistics of the tour and applying his historical knowledge of the Battle of Verdun. I highly recommend this tour for those interested... read more in the period. You will walk away with an appreciation of the events and their impact on both the French and the Germans that really only be gained by seeing the ground. Here are a couple of notes: The TGV ride from Paris to the Champagne-Ardennes Station is about 40 minutes. The ride from the station to Verdun adds an hour and a half each way so travel time from and back to Paris consumes a bit over 4 hours of the day. This means that the time in Verdun is short enough that you cannot see everything that is available. For example, we were able to explore Fort Douamont but did not get to see Ft. Vaux.

2024-08-30Searching for a relative's position in WWI - I had found a map of where my great uncle had died on November 2, 1918. We hired Gwendal to hopefully find this area.
He picked us up... read more in Paris on a Friday. We stayed in Reims and went on the tour on Saturday. He had done research on where my great uncle was fighting when he was killed. He also had the name of the town when his temporary grave was located. I think I located approximately the location where he was shot because of his research. He then took us to several other American and WWI sites. He was great!
On Sunday he took us back to our Paris hotel. I am so glad I did this tour with him.gatestemple
2024-05-15Lovely Champagne Day from Paris - We have just returned to Paris from our day trip Champagne tour. We were 2 couples, and all 4 of us had an excellent time.
Gwendal was timely... read more and professional, and very nice. He is quite comfortable in English. He clearly knew the people at the 2 houses we visited, and at the lunch restaurant, as things went seamlessly at all 3 stops.
While driving too and from Paris he left us alone (we were pretty tired), but if we had questions, and in Champagne, he was full of information.
The grand house we visited was nice, but the real gem was the smaller, family run house. We learned so much during our private tour, and loved the wine.
The lunch restaurant was very high end, with a fantastic setting.
We cannot say enough positive about Gwendal and our day out from Paris with him.CMCLdn1
